By now if your ALF accepts residents on the long term care program you have either received or going to receive a visit from one of the long-term care plans whom AHCA has contracted to do an assessment of your facility.
The assessments are to determine whether a residential or nonresidential setting in which individuals receive Florida Medicaid funded home and community based services (HCBS) are: Home-like (HLE) Promote community inclusion (CI) Person centered (PC)
AHCA has been required by CMS to perform this assessment on all Medicaid ALFs.
AHCA has divided up the list of facilities between all of the plans. Every ALF will be assessed by any one of the plans. It does not matter if you have a contract with the plan or not.
The Plans are performing the assessment and reporting back to AHCA that the standard is met and the Assessment is on file. If the standard is not met you will have the opportunity to correct the issues.
