How to Account for Appreciation Gifts
It is that time of the year when we like to give our staff and ministers a "gift" to show them how much we appreciate all they do for our church/organization throughout the year. See some Pastor Appreciation ideas.
However...please be aware that those gift cards and love offerings are usually considered taxable income and MUST be reported in Box 1 of their W-2s...or on a 1099 for nonemployees such as guest speakers.
