Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours Deals & Tips for Dec. 26, 2022
Hey it's Keith Kravitz...
We are knee-deep into spring 2022 and life is good! The weather has been perfect for flying and my sixth-sense tells me it's going to continue right through summer.
Las Vegas
Our bottom-landing tours are really taking off with folks. Personally, doesn't surprise me. They're a great value and come with a super-unique value proposition: only 5% of visitors to the Canyon get to the bottom! Plus, you can only do it by flying out from
Vegas.
If you want to be one of the select few who actually get below the rim and land, here's your options: 1). economy; 2) deluxe; and 3) sunset. Remember, you can privatize these options so it's you and your group that "owns" the cabin.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that our SUPER MEGA 4-1 tours are now flying daily with more departures to be scheduled. This is a big deal for a tour that includes flying from Vegas, taking a helicopter to the bottom, then transferring to a boat on the Colorado
River, and concluding with a VIP Skywalk ticket. Do this tour and you truly have "been there, done that." The air-segment of the tour can be done by helicopter or by airplane (cheaper).
I'm also pumped about our flyover tours. These packages are great for folks who are on a tight budget and/or have limited time to do the Canyon. Just like all our Vegas tours, the flyovers also include Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. Pick the basic or the deluxe (includes hotel limo transfers and Strip tour) package and let's goooooooooo!
Weight Surcharge
I need to address this because the my inbox is full of requests asking for explanations. The bottom line: If you weigh more than 300 pounds and you want to do a helicopter tour, the surcharge is USD $200. For airplanes, it's $100.
Weather
Summer is hot in Vegas and Arizona. You need to be prepared. By that I mean dress for heat and stay hydrated. It also pays to know the best time to fly. To help you plan, I put together a quick temperature chart.
Front Seats
Helicopters only hold 6 people - three in the back and three in the front including pilot. Thus there are only two front seats for travelers. Front seats are never guaranteed. In other words, you can't reserve them. But you can request a front seat upgrade. Complicated? Best to read this.
South Rim
The South Rim is popping off, too! I'm especially excited about our 50-minute deluxe tour. It includes going over the South, East, and North Rims while passing through the magnificent Dragon Corridor. Make it private and take your experience to a whole new
level.
Or perhaps you want to tighten the belt a tad. I got you covered. The answer is our 30-minute tour. Goes South to North Rim and back via the Dragon. It's a great way to max out your Canyon trip. FYI: combine this tour with 4x4 Jeep and enjoy the best air-ground
combo we offer (can be further leveled up to include Jeep at sunset!)
