Hey it's Keith Kravitz...
Want to let you know I just posted a new article about our 4-in-1 Super Mega Tour. It's the one that lets you experience the top and the bottom of the Canyon via helicopter, airplane and boat. Even includes a VIP Skywalk ticket. If you're the type of person who wants to see and do it all at the Canyon in a day, this is the tour for you.
I also updated the post on how to decide if you want to visit the West Rim or South Rim. This is a subject many of you ask and I hope this fast FAQ helps. Key thing to keep in mind is from where you are taking the tour. Get that squared away and, for the most part, the rest quickly falls into place.
Now, without further adieu....
WEIGHT SURCHARGE
I need to address this because the my inbox is full of requests asking for explanations. The bottom line: If you weigh more than 300 pounds and you want to do a helicopter tour, the surcharge is up to USD $200. For airplanes, it's $100. This can change without notice and here's our weight
FAQ.
LAS VEGAS
The bottom-landing picnic is available in economy and deluxe. Both include free hotel transfers, except the deluxe features a limo. Further, the deluxe comes with an extended tour over the Vegas Strip. Both can be
privatized.
If you're on a budget, I strongly suggest you consider the air-only tour. It doesn't land but it covers everything between Vegas and the Canyon including Hoover Dam. This trip takes just 3.5 hours and you're back at the hotel in time for a show, dinner, dancing or whatever works for you. Make it
private if you want the whole helicopter for you and your friends.
FRONT SEATS
Helicopters only hold 6 people - three in the back and three in the front including pilot. Thus there are only two front seats for travelers. Front seats are never guaranteed. In other words, you can't reserve them. But you can request a front seat upgrade. The reason why front seats can't be reserved is that nobody
knows who the other passengers are on your flight until check in, among other things.
SOUTH RIM
Lots of families come up to the South Rim during summer. That means in most cases the most in-expensive option is in high demand. In this case, it's the 30-minute air-only tour. This flight, which can be privatized, takes off from the Grand Canyon National Park Airport and goes
from South Rim to North Rim and back. The highlight is the Dragoon Corridor, which is the widest, deepest section of the Park. For even greater value, consider our 50-minute flight (private option available)
