Makes you wonder. Best bet is it's a helicopter because they fly at a much lower altitude than airplanes. Further, helicopters land on the bottom as well as fly over the West Rim. The landings are intense and involve a 3,500-foot. If you book the right tour, it comes with a
Champagne picnic.
The
flyover, which goes over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, stays about 1,000 feet over the Canyon's rim and makes a nice pass near the Skywalk. By contrast, airplanes fly at a higher altitude but get to the Canyon quicker. They also do the same flight path as helicopters so you get Hoover and Mead en route. The
basic airplane flyover is our cheapest air tour. The one, however, that I like the
best is
the Skywalk airplane. It's fully loaded tour and comes with a VIP Skywalk pass. So, what is she pointing at? Not sure. But I like her enthusiasm.
