Hi !
Last week we talked about how holding on to dangerous curves is hindering your vegan weight gain goals. Today we are talking about another common mistake; not eating enough calories.
I drill this in A LOT because all the squats in the world will do nothing if you are not getting a surplus in calories.
Sometimes we THINK we are getting eating enough when in reality we are not. The only way to know for sure is to count calories. I know that is not the funniest thing in the world to do. But if you are struggling to get gains, it is necessary to KNOW (not think or guess) if you are eating enough or not.
In my What I Eat in a Day Video, I received a lot of comments where women saw what I ate and realize they were not eating nearly as much as they thought they were.
But keep in mind you also need to have CONSISTENCY. You can't just eat high calorie meals for 1 week and the next week not do it at all. We often think because we been doing something for a while "off and on" that we are consistent. You will get further doing something consistently everyday for 30 days, than doing it "off and on" for 1 year. So make sure you are consistent so that eating high calorie
meals becomes a habit.
Now if you are struggling to eat a lot of calories initially, here are few tips you can do:
2. drink smoothies. It's super easy to add calories to smoothies and still have room later for additional meals.
3. take baby steps. For the first week, try only increasing the calories in your breakfast meals. Then week two, add in high calorie lunches. Keep progressing with high calorie meals over time until you can eat a full day's worth of high calorie meals.
Let's digest on this information from this and last week. Next week, I will be sending you some fun NEW vegan recipes to try!
Blessings,
Gina Marie
P.S. Thank you for everyone who reaches out to me directly. I see all your emails and comments, but because I get a lot of emails, DMs on multiple platforms, and comments daily, I am not always able to answer everyone directly and/or quickly (it might take weeks). A lot of the questions I get are similar in nature and I will instead answer them via a video, blog post, or newsletter email.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
