Three hours of QUIET?!

It happened on Thursday.

Matt and I know we need more quiet time, but during this season with so many littles it's very hard to make it happen. Here's what happened Thursday: Brayden and Kiya went to school in the morning as usual. We had two appointments for our little kids at our house at 8:45 and at 10:00. Around 10:30 Matt and Elias loaded our three littlest into the van and took them to their dearest Emma's house in York for the day while the guys headed to one of our properties to work. I got Keith and Anna on the bus at noon and didn't have to pick anyone up from school until 3:30.

Unbelievable!!! I've never been at our Castle by myself, ever. The three and a half hours of quiet was so loud I could feel it. It sounded so good.

My days are usually full of constant neediness, and I truly am honored to be the mom of so many children. My calling is great and God is good to provide.

But we've been praying for more quiet and refreshment that we need so that we can be the best parents that we can be. Thursday's downtime was AMAZING!!

For the record - Matt wasn't necessarily having "down time" while he worked that day, but any break from our normal kid-packed days is refreshing. And his hard work got us one day closer to finishing that house so we can put it on the market. 🎉

What did I do with my quiet time?

I prayed. I drank a fizzy flavored water. I did nothing. I did some laundry. I ate a snack. I had some coffee. I worked on the upcoming Summer eMagazine. I put some more time into a fun summer project I'm working on for our Club Membership. My work is restful because I love to write and create - and being able to do this without interruption was lovely!

Now that spring is officially here...

It feels a bit like winter. I think it's fabulous that we had so many spring-like days this winter, so I'm not complaining that it's cold right now. It's March. Of course it's still not super warm. That happened in February. Can we really have it that way all the time? Nope. :)

So soup. We're going to enjoy soup and baked goods for the next few days as we finish out the season and head into actual warm weather months. Here are our favorite Soup Recipes and here are the recipes we like to bake to go with our soup.
