Thanks for opening up this edition of the Friday Four. Let's get things started by sharing a recent podcast episode that I recorded with my buddy Michael Keeler:
- When to Add a Service Provider to Your Gym - One of the best ways to increase profitability in your operation is to introduce complimentary service offerings on-site. In this conversation, Michael and I discussed
how and when to attack this process in your own gym.
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports
Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- Understand the Link Between Business Values and Leadership - This was an ineresting read on the benefits of employing a value-centered leadership strategy. Are your actions in alignment with the declared values inside of your gym at this point in time?
- Hangry (Book) -
I thoroughly enjoyed this detailed look at the path Mike Evans took from conceiving the idea for Grubhub all the way through to him exiting the company immediately following an IPO. Anyone who has started a business and navigated growth with one or more business partners will be able to relate to the trials and tribulations shared.
- How to Make $500k/yr as An Online Coach - This is both a share of a specifically fascinating newsletter issue from my buddy John Franklin, and a strong recommendation that you consider signing up for his newsletter. If you're interested in the business dynamics of the iftness industry as a whole, you will not find a smarter or more thoughtful
content creator.
- How I Built This - Orangetheory Fitness: Ellen Latham - I'm a sucker for a well-produced founder story podcast episode, and even moreso when it is specific to
the fitness industry. Whether you like Orangetheory or not, there are lessons to take away from this story about a rapidly scaling franchise model in our space.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
