Having Type 1 Diabetes can feel very lonely sometimes. There are days where it feels like no one can possibly understand what it's like to live with a condition that dictates so much of your life; but it doesn't need to be that way. Tackling these things with friends makes life so much easier. And tackling it with friends also in the same boat? Even
better!
That's why we have decided to facilitate a support group for people with Type 1 Diabetes. In an informal, unstructured environment, you can meet people just like you, who understand the dizzying world of glucose levels, insulin injections, finger pricks, carb counting, and everything else that comes along with managing Type 1 Diabetes. Our Diabetes Educator Annette and Dietitian Angela will be available for discussion and questions, but essentially this is a chance for you to meet others in
a casual catch-up, away from a clinical/medical setting.
We hope to make this Support Group an ongoing venture. For now, our first session will be held on April 3rd at Souths Leagues Club in Merewether (across and down the street from out Centre). Come along for a drink, a meal, or just to chat - partners are also encouraged to join. We will need to book tables, so an RSVP by Monday 1st April would be most appreciated. You can do so by calling us on (02) 4963 2323, messaging us on Facebook, or sending us an email by clicking the
link below. We hope to see you there!
