Two additional companies are doing their own version of a membership. Both are here in the US:
1) Best Buy
Best Buy now sells their total tech
care membership. Basically all of the warranties/service plans are free, their tech support is free and you get longer return periods. $200 annually.
2) Costco
Costco is a Warehouse Club giving you the ability to buy in bulk. Their membership is $50 annually and it gives you the ability to shop in their
store. You cannot checkout without a membership.
Thinking creatively, you can structure a membership so that it's in the best interest of your customer to pay you for some present and future benefits.
You don't need to do
the thinking for your customer, but you do want to plant the idea.
