Hi
Yesterday, I was doing an onboarding with Insider Jaimie and we took a look together at hosting options.
Vimeo has now changed their plan
ENTIRELY.
I was shocked.
The bandwidth is unlimited, but there are now limits to the number of videos for each plan.
Take a look for yourself.
But they're not the only ones changing the deal.
Zapier contacted me with an automated email to let me know that they were 'discontinuing' their plan with me. The current plan, I
am paying $19/mo for, they're going to default me into the one that fits best (according to them).
Based on the features I use, this plan will be $133.50.
As you may have seen the thread in Xtreme Community with Insider Julian.
Just like they did with him...Teachable contacted me by autoresponder email to let me know that they were going up in price by 50%.
But I could "lock in" my current rate by paying annually but only for one year.
Circle (Also owed
by Teachable), where we host Xtreme Community disabled the "Online Courses" feature in accounts like mine and said that if I wanted to have it, I could upgrade by paying $33/monthly in addition.
This is a trend folks.
Venture backed
companies like Teachable, Zapier and others...that are bigger than one man/woman shops but not big enough to be publicly traded are going to be looking for profits by cutting staff and excess capacity.
There is no way around that.
I
suspect that in the next six months, ALL of the services you rely on to run your online business will do the same.
And don't expect these social media companies to be there in the same way they've been in the past (that includes the big read and white video sharing site).
None of them are making money and their inventors are getting nervous and antsy. I have been suggesting that you start reading the Wall Street Journal so that you will see these things from a different perspective than most of the internet marketer community.
If you do, you'll see and know long before others are
"shocked" by the fact that these social media companies going to start trying to figure out how to tweak what they're giving you to make more. Stockholders (of which you may be one) are on their back about this.
Believe this...the trend will slant in their favor and not yours.
But I didn't tell you all of this to scare you...
What can YOU do?
The plan hasn't changed. Stop chasing little MMO gadgets and projects and get laser focused on building recurring
revenue streams so as to insulate yourself from this trend.
I'm here to help.
