In the last few posts I've introduced the concept of the global meta crisis, the convergence of all the crises we face in the world, environmental, political, social and economic to name a few. I also introduced the concept of this being a crisis of consciousness. Let me dive deeper into this.
Whatever is happening in the world we live in is a reflection of the collective
consciousness of all of humanity. What this means is that what we think and feel within ourselves we reflect out into the world. We are seeing tremendous upheaval and chaos in the world through climate change, wars, human slavery and increasing government control.
This is simply because we are all in a state of internal chaos. The reason for this is that everyone is traumatized and has not been taught how to navigate their inner world. Some of you may argue that you've had
wonderful lives and do not feel that you've been traumatized, however, by virtue of being born into this life on earth, you are traumatized.
The birth process itself is traumatic. We are all safe and protected in our mother's womb and then, one day, we are forced through the birth canal and are thrust into the world. This is a shock to our system and, not only this, but the fact that we are initially separated from our mothers to undergo testing and get initial vaccines. This
perpetuates the trauma.
Let's look at early childhood. Very few of us emerge from childhood without trauma. I'm not even talking about physical or sexual abuse but the subtlest of things, such as having two working parents and nobody at home to guide us, not being the favourite child, emotional neglect, bullying at school or even having someone say something derogatory to you which you remember for the rest of your life.
The point I'm trying to make is that
everyone experiences trauma which usually gets internalized because we are not taught how to manage and deal with it. Eventually, as we get older and move on in the world, our internalized trauma gets expressed in the world as it can't stay bottled up. This is the root cause of why our world is such a mess, environmentally, politically, socially, economically, etc.
The question then arises, if we are all traumatized and doomed from the start then is there any hope for
humanity? What can we do about this? I will attempt to start tackling this complex subject in my next post.
