Follow Up #1 - Local Law 160 of 2017: Covered Arrears
Published: Tue, 03/16/21
E-NEWS
Beginning March 1, 2021, as required by Local Law 160 of 2017, the Department will deny New Building and Alteration-Co permits in DOB NOW if $25,000 or more in covered arrears is owed to New York City with respect to the property for
which the permit is being sought, or the owners of the property together owe $25,00 or more in covered arrears to the City.
The owners will be required to answer the required questions relating to covered arrears prior to filling the application. NYEA will not take responsibility of answering these questions on behalf of the owners.
Unfortunately, these questions are retroactive on jobs that have not been submitted as of March 1st and the owners will need to log back on and answer them prior to filling.
