Sketch Challenge-Bleaching Technique
The Bleach Technique is fun and interesting because each item will differ depending on how the bleach reacts to various colored card stock.
Just remember, when working with bleach, always cover your work surface and wear old clothing. Remember, you are working with bleach, and accidents can happen!
1. Make a palette. Fold a paper towel into fourths and place in a powder pal or similar. Pour a small amount of bleach onto the paper towel, letting it soak in.
2. Ink up leaves from Love of Leaves on Cajun Craze card stock. Set aside and let the bleach do its thing. It will change the paper's color, continuing to do so even up to an hour after stamping.
3. Attach a piece of Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series paper to top of bleached card front. Attach to Bumblebee mat. Attach to Blackberry Bliss card base.
4. Add a strip of Blackberry Bliss card stock to cover the seam.
5. Stamp greeting from Love of Leaves on Bumblebee card stock using Blackberry Bliss ink. Attach to Blackberry Bliss strip. Add enamel dots to complete.
TIP: To protect your stamp (especially the photopolymer), ink the stamp in Versamark first. Always wash the bleach off immediately after use.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Love of Leaves
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze, Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
Accessories: bleach, paper towel, powder pal, Cajun Craze enamel dots from my stash
Another Take on the Sketch Challenge
1. Stamp leaves from Love of Leaves using Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, and Bumblebee inks on Whisper White card front.
2. Emboss a piece of Bumblebee card stock using the lined Stitched Leaves die.
Attach to the top of the Whisper White card front. Attach to Blackberry Bliss mat. Attach to Whisper White card base.
3. Add a strip of Plaid Tidings 6"x6" Designer Series Paper to cover the seam.
4. Since I did not have any Blackberry Bliss ribbon, I colored a piece of sheer ribbon from my stash using a Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend. The possibilities are endless for creating your own colored ribbon! Tie ribbon in a bow.
4. Stamp greeting from Love of Leaves on a scrap piece of Bumblebee card stock using Blackberry Bliss ink. Banner cut one end. Cut a scrap piece of Cajun Craze card stock, and banner cut one end. Attach together, and create a small hole using a hole punch or paper piercing tool. Insert a piece of Linen Thread through the hole and wrap around the Blackberry Bliss ribbon, tying a bow. Attach to the strip of DSP using a Glue Dot.
5. Color pearls using the Dark Crushed Curry Stampin' Blend. Attach to card front to complete.
