2. Cut squares out of patterned paper. I used designs from Beauty of the Earth and In Good Taste Designer Series Papers. This is a great way to use up paper scraps!
I wanted my pattern to fit on a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base. This would include the leaf block, plus the side strips.
I decided to use 1" squares. That way, the block would measure 3"x3", and would fit on the card base. I cut the squares using my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and a 1" square die. If you don't have a die, use a punch or cut the squares
using a paper trimmer.
3. Cut the side strips for the block frame. I cut 3/8" wide by 4 1/2" long strips out of Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Bumblebee, and Cinnamon Cider card stock.
The length of the strips will be cut down to fit the final pattern.
The final block measures 5"x4"
4. Following the pattern, cut 1/2 of the squares in half on the diagonal using a paper trimmer.
5.Apply adhesive to 5"x 4" piece of scrap card stock. I used Stampin' Seal.
6. Begin assembly following the leaf pattern.
7. Cut a small rectangle piece for the stem and attach.
8. Attach side strips, cutting them to length to fit.
9. Emboss piece using die-cut machine and embossing folder. I used a retired stitching/quilt pattern embossing folder, but any would work.
10. Attach to Basic White card base. Trim side edges to fit block.
Final card measures 5 1/4" x 4 1/4"
11. Stamp greeting from Love of Leaves on scrap piece of Bumblebee card stock using Merry Merlot ink. Banner cut one end. Attach to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up. Add a glimmer dot to complete.
