Has school started where you live?
This week both of the girls started school.
Our 16 yr old, Morgan, is doing online homeschool and our 5 yr old, Linden, just started Kindergarten.
Getting back into the school schedule has been challenging but I am making the most of my "free" time.
I thought I would be bored because for the first time in over five years, I'm without a little one all day.
Honestly, the time goes by much faster than I anticipated it would. I'm not bored I can tell you that much.

Weather has been wet and wonky. Our garden is having mold and fungus issues because of all the rain.
To top if off, we have a tropical storm coming our way today and since Harvey destroying the West coast, my concerns are high.
It has been one year since hurricane Mathew hit us and it's a constant reminder that Mother Natural is a force not to be reckoned with.

Have you ever experienced Homesteaders Burnout?
I have. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going through it right now.
Life is tough, work is tough, kids are exhausting, then there are the chores.
Oh my goodness, the never-ending to-do list.
My first inclination is to give myself a hard time, beat myself up for buying that loaf of bread instead of making it, forgetting my recycle bag and using a plastic one, letting my scoby go bad because I forgot to brew my tea for kombucha.
Enough Already!

Grace is my goal for this week.
To allow myself grace and forgive myself of my shortcomings.
Why not forgive yourself? You forgive everyone else, it's time you forgave yourself too.
You can't do it all and it's high-time we all stop expecting (demanding) that we do.
Life is not a Pinterest picture. It's more of a compost pile.
The good, the bad and the ugly.

Embrace our faults and failures. Own them. And above all, allow yourself GRACE.

Our goal is to invite you to join us from conception to completion and form a Community of like-minded people to share this adventure with.

DIY Emergency Portable Toilet.

I wish our first experience with a “luggable loo” had been somewhere fun like a camping trip, but unfortunately when we needed an “Emergency Relief System” (ERS) as they're called, it really was an emergency. Our toilet would not flush and there was nowhere else to go.

Our little Linden's first day of school.
What does she do right before the start of Kindergarten?
She falls off her bunk bed and breaks her clavicle.
Yep, she is now in a sling for 4-6 weeks.
Life is never boring- that is for sure!
