Mountain Living & Homestead Life
So...... If you follow us on Facebook you may already know what we've been dealing with. If not, I will share a summary with you.
We own over 46 acres in rural East Tennessee. The bottom part of our land is in the holler and the back goes up the mountain. We have neighbors on the other side of the hills but no one we can see.
1.5
acres at the very front of our land by the road just recently sold.
These new owners decided to go on our land, cut our trees, tore down an old goat barn and trampled our elderberry bushes.
Needless to say, we have yet to talk to these neighbors face-to-face because they don't live here and the land they bought is raw land.
I believe God has allowed us this cool-down time, it probably would have ended bad had I seen them
right away.
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter where you live, how far out in the country, how much land you own, good neighbors are essential to a peaceful life.
I pray we can resolve this without someone getting buried or needing bail money.
Homestead Update
We had to pause construction in order to deal with our neighbors
landscaping- by that I mean trespassing on our land.
However, we've made some progress with the new chicken coop.
It's made out of solid oak, built-in windows, a run and a fenced in yard. We will let the chickens free-range but will keep them fenced in when we are gone and at night to protect them.
Next up on the project list?
Clearing the land at the top of the mountain for our home and storing wood for the upcoming winter
season.
