"The quality of exploration might change over time, but the magic of what’s happening never ends. The idea in yoga is to become aware enough, tuned-in enough and quiet enough to see what your real nature is."

~ John Schumacher

Dear Friends,

Happy (belated) Solstice! The solstice was welcomed in at the Feathered Pipe Ranch by Brant Secunda and his group offering a Dance of Deer ceremony.

It truly feels like summer has started here in the Rocky Mountains. As I sit here to write, a symphony of birds sing, the sun is shining, the grass is vivid green after the wonderful rains of late, the sky is "Windex" blue, and we are in full swing at the Ranch. We are truly blessed in joining our many animal friends—from the birds and deer to the bears and moose—in enjoying ourselves in this gorgeous habitat.

These long days are breathtaking, and so are the clear nights. To get a little slice of what it's like here in the night, check out our night sky video with words of wisdom from Erich Schiffmann.

We still have some spaces left if you still want to join us this summer at the Ranch. Please check out our summer line-up.

In mid-July, the Mindful Unplug is a perfect opportunity to spend time in nature, forest bathing, doing some yoga, participating in drumming with the Matthew Marsolek, visiting with your new best friends (seriously cool people), hiking, and eating delicious food prepared with love in the Feathered Pipe Ranch kitchen.

Big love from Montana and hope to see you soon.

With gratitude,
Crystal Water

Dandelion Effect Podcast - Rodney Yee: Honoring Ancestry and Exploring the Beginner’s Mind

Yoga was the beginning of actually not just trying to improve my body and my mind, but actually also enjoying it and falling in love with what it already was.

That’s a big mistake, unfortunately, in the modern yoga world, is that there’s so many ideas of poses that people are trying to eek their way into that it becomes just another way to beat yourself up. For me, it was absolutely not that. It was the beginning of seeing my body as the miracle that it is, and the playground that it is.

Yoga & Aging: Navigating Life’s Transitions – Judith Hanson Lasater

The most important thing I learned about this process is a lesson I still learn repeatedly. I would distill this lesson into a “mantra” of these three words: Trust yourself first. This will guide you well as you transition through life’s stages.
