Dear Friends,

All the grounds are delicately tucked under the soft white blanket of snow at Feathered Pipe Ranch, easing us into the final months of the year.

As it gets cold outside and the days grow shorter, we look more towards heartwarming activities inside or online. I've got a couple to recommend. Two of our sister non-profits, Veterans Yoga Project and the Tibetan Children's Education Foundation—who both started under the auspices of Feathered Pipe Foundation—have upcoming events. Please consider joining them and contributing to their worthy causes.

VETERANS YOGA PROJECT: Nov 4-13, 2022 Veterans Yoga Project offers many ways to participate in person and online with their 9th Annual Veterans Gratitude Week, honoring our nation's veterans, service members, their families and communities.

In September 2023 we are thrilled to have VYP return to Feathered Pipe Ranch for their Mindful Resilience Teacher Training and Summit. To learn more and support this project, click here.

TIBETAN CHILDREN'S EDUCATION FOUNDATION: November 19, 2022 the Tibetan Children's Education Foundation is hosting its annual Tibetan cultural night and fundraiser online. The online auction—which includes a chance to bid on a 2023 workshop at Feathered Pipe Ranch—is already open for bidding. To bid, donate, and/or register for the TCEF event, click here.

Winter in the Mountains

One final little announcement...

Our resident elder, Tom Ryan, is looking for a housemate for the winter in his beautiful property just up the hill from the Feathered Pipe Ranch. He worked as the primary builder and caretaker for 33 years, has stories galore and shares the home with one of our favorite pups, Bodhi. If you want to spend an unforgettable winter in Montana, check out his ad and give him a call.

Wishing you all warmth and love,
Crystal Water

Matt Kuntz: Redefining Our Understanding Of Mental Health

Recognized by President Obama as one of 18 “Ordinary Americans Who’ve Made An Extraordinary Difference,” Matt’s legislative work in the mental health field has undoubtedly helped improve the lives of many people.

He was recently appointed to serve on the Department of Veterans Affairs National Research Advisory Council, helping to sustain a national research program focused on the high-priority health care needs of veterans, and he also helped institute the Center for Mental Health Research and Recovery at Montana State University, where he leads studies on Montana Youth and Veterans.

The TCEF Story: How Feathered Pipe's Community Touches Tibetan Refugee Lives

I believe that the core of the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation (TCEF) story is about the empathy that individual people in the West have for Tibet and Tibetans. One reason to share this story is that we are marking our 25th anniversary this year, but perhaps even more importantly, I wanted to share it for inspiration.
