Synergy: Life's Ever-evolving Nature

Dear Friends,

Last month, we wrote an article about Preserving the Balance. My dad, Laughing Water, sent me an email to sing his praises and also reminded me about synergy. He said when people use the word balance, he often wonders “whether synergy is what we’re really after. There are certainly instances of things that must be balanced or homeostatic, but life is by nature synergistic and evolving.”

And while it’s difficult for children to agree with their parents (LOL), I couldn’t agree more. We are actually trying to cultivate and stimulate synergy. I don’t know if I’ve ever been more aware of the power of synergy than since working with our amazing team at Feathered Pipe. When we combine our minds, hearts, and strength, we can make exponential progress. It’s empowering, invigorating, and fun.

The Ranch has been lovingly tucked in for the winter and the snow conspicuously dumped down the day after Simon, our winter caretaker, moved in. It may seem like it’s resting during the deep freeze, yet nature is replenishing itself. In the meantime, we are reflecting back over the season and are filled with gratitude and appreciation for the synergy that manifested.

Please watch our little video of gratitude and allow us to express our deep thanks to you all! Thanks to everyone who visited, worked or volunteered at the Feathered Pipe Ranch, as well as the many generous donors of Feathered Pipe Foundation, we were able to continue to make improvements and repairs to the Ranch in 2023.

Including: Native Plant and Pollinator Project, kitchen garden, seeding, lots of planting, landscaping around bathhouse, 25 bird houses, solar light pathways; mini outdoor library; oiling of log buildings; new metal roofs on bathhouse, garage, teachers cabin and honeymoon cabin; new fence around propane tank, new siding for 3 yurts and new roof for 1 yurt; and many fresh supplies like bedding, dishes, and Newbie the golf cart to name a few. This is synergy in action!
