Feathered Pipe Friends,

Greetings from our little Winter Wonderland! We are currently finishing up the last week of the season here at the Ranch, and as many of you are aware, we went from an easy glide into glorious fall colors to a deep-winter snowstorm in the span of one day and a night. It made for an interesting arrival day for Earthworks
one of the most focused and inspired group of environmental activists we have experienced in a long time but everyone got in safe and appreciated greatly the warmth of the grand fireplace in the Main Hall. The first couple days were breath-taking in their beauty, reminding us all what makes this land so sacred and special to so many.

Next year will be our 45th anniversary of summer retreat programs at the Feathered Pipe Ranch, and we intend to make it a grand celebration of the lifework of India Supera. We have a lineup of programs and celebrated teachers exemplifying exactly what she envisioned so many years ago.

Appropriately, dearest friends Dr. Jean Shinoda Bolen and Monika Wikman will welcome in the Summer Solstice, inviting you to tune into womb wisdom and our connection to Mother Earth. True elder of yoga Mark Whitwell will join us for his long-awaited, first program at the Ranch. And Judith Hanson Lasater who taught our first retreat in 1975, will return with a week dedicated to the exploring the practice and essence of “Letting Go.”

Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher Marla Apt, Bhakti Yoga’s Nat Kendall, and Energy Medicine Yoga’s Lauren Walker will share the true healing power of yoga through their insightful instruction. Dr. Baxter Bell and Melina Meza invite you to experience yoga for healthy aging and Ayurveda for deep healing. And our fifth running of the homegrown mindfulness retreat, The Mindful Unplug, will reconnect you to what really makes life worth living.

We as well have a number of first-time offerings that we are very excited to share with you, all being unique and inspired programs with exceptionally gifted teachers. There are still a few surprises yet to be announced, but please do investigate more deeply what will make our 45th anniversary retreat season one to remember. Stay tuned and register early as some programs are already more than half full. And as always, if you invite a friend new to the Feathered Pipe to join you for any of our hosted programs*, you both save $100!

Beyond Fear & Suffering: Learning To See Life As It Is – Erich Schiffmann

We are suffering because of ignorance. We are suffering because we don’t know how things work, because we don’t know who we are, and because we allow our thinking minds to overrule our inner voice. And we’re suffering needlessly. In other words, it can be circumvented.
