Did you know that cruises have mandated health and safety protocols, and that they have to follow the rules and regulations of every country they travel in?
Did you know that they are required to report any health issues of any outbreaks?
And most cruises lines require all passengers to be vaccinated.
To take an expedition cruise, such as one with my friends Lindblad, you have to be fully vaccinated to be able to book the cruise.
You have to upload proof of a negative PCR test before you leave home.
If you board a flight in Canada, you also have to show your vaccination proof - but even if you're not starting in Canada (or if you are), all cruise passengers still have to take another PCR test to board the expedition cruise.
If you're going to Antarctica, say, and have to board a charter flight, you have to test again to board the flight.
Obviously, different countries have different rules, and you'll see some differences between Chile and Argentina, say - but - you can be sure that the expedition cruise partners are following local rules - and - they are taking every precaution to ensure their cruisers and staff are as safe as possible.
Ever wonder about the safety of shopping at Costco? Do you know for sure your fellow shoppers are masked (well, in Canada they are), but if they're vaccinated and if they've had multiple PCR tests to be in the same space of you?
They don't.
