Hello ! It's a busy night-sky newsletter for this final month of 2021. There are planets and aurorae to talk about, plus a meteor shower and a comet to see in the December skies. And - fingers crossed - a major space telescope
finally embarks on its mission of discovery. Here are your astronomical highlights for December 2021!
3. My latest article for
Sky & Telescope magazine - "Small Scope Winter" - appears in the December 2021 issue. I also did a
video interview and discussion about this article with the American Astronomical Society - you can
watch the video here to get some ideas of what to see in the northern winter night sky with a small telescope.
7. A fine way to spend time on a cloudy night: enjoying
a live view of the observatory domes and sky on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. At night, the stars in this live feed are quite spectacular!
"Please speak to me of spirituality
Quantum theory and your philosophy
Please remind me there’s so much more than what the eye can see
All the everyday delights; looking for the northern lights"
Thanks for reading! Have a great holiday, and I look forward to sharing the skies with you in 2022.
