Hello book and travel lovers! Our JourneyWoman Book Club is in our second year -- and it's even better thanks to our partnership with TripFiction.  Our books so far this year have been terrific and we've had some wonderful discussion at our monthly book club, which just passed its two year anniversary! 

We've also got a passionate new co-host, Australian Sally Jane Smith, who joins the wonderful Wendy Brooke in hosting our monthly book club meetings. Sally has visited 33 countries and lived on five continents, and is the author of Unpacking for Greece (working title). Her current writing is inspired by her seven-week solo journey through Turkey.  

Our next Book Club meeting is on May 18, featuring Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (Mexico) 

Silvia Moreno-Garcia is one of the most popular writers in Mexico. I first read her best-selling novel Mexican Gothic when I was in Merida, and then discovered Gods of Jade and Shadow. The storyline is unlikely: unhappy Casiopea Tun meets the Mayan god of death, who asks for her help dethroning his brother, sending her on a harrowing, life-changing journey in this one-of-a-kind fairy tale inspired by Mexican folklore.

Joining us from Merida, Mexico, is expert Trudy Woodcock, an expert in the ancient teachings of the Maya.
