For almost 30 years, JourneyWoman has been about sharing women’s first-hand travel experiences. As women, we know that the best way for us to learn is from each other. 

As I've mentioned in previous messages, JourneyWoman HQ has shifted to Europe for the next few months so that I can be closer to my daughter Alyx, who's attending school in London. A month ago, I started my journey in England at the World Travel Market, and visited Bath and Bristol (with thanks to Visit Britain) and then took the Eurostar to Paris, and then on to Munich. So far, I've travelled over 1300 kilometres on the train, using my points, looking for travel deals and staying with friends and family. I invite you to follow my journey on our Instagram and private Facebook group, where I'm sharing regular updates, travel tips and observations. This week, I'm joining my first river cruise from Prague to Vienna as a guest of Avalon Waterways and I can't wait! I hope my actions inspire you to travel with confidence but also think about WHERE and HOW we can travel more sustainably.

Since I'm in Europe and in another time zone, the wonderful Diana Eden, our 'Women Over 80' contributor, has offered to host this week's December Community Call. Diana has recently returned from a safari in Africa and is going to Morocco over the holidays. On this call, she'll be talking about some of the changes she has experienced, and invite you to ask questions and share your observations. Giving Tuesday is a global movement that takes place on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 10 years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. We've curated a list of organizations recommended by our readers, speakers and Women’s Advisory Council to include 15 (up from 10 last year). These are all organizations that we have interacted with over the past two years, covering a range of needs, from Ukrainian relief, women's safety, food, human trafficking and Indigenous reconciliation. If you're considering donating, please take a read through these groups, which are close to our heart.
