Dear ,
Some of you who participate in the book club know a little bit about me from the stories I've told during our discussions, but for those of you who don't, my name is Wendy Brooke.
My cat, Hepzibah, and I live in an old historic home in Montgomery Alabama. While I travel for work in the US, I have a trip planned for early October to
England where I'll be taking a course in Osteology or the Archaeology of bones. Archaeology is one of my passions and in my free time you'll find me doing volunteer work at various Archeological sites throughout the world. In the past, I've been one of those people in the ditches digging but age and bad knees have stopped me from that type of the task and now I'm more
inclined to be doing lab work. For me there is something very exciting about holding a piece of pottery that's 2,000 years old.
Since I was a young girl, I've used books as a way to understand the world and to go places both in place and time that I have would
not have been able to except through reading. I'm a reader, I love to read. I'm looking forward to our October book selection, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I hope to see many of you at the book club on Wednesday, October 19, when we discuss our thoughts about the people of Guernsey during the German Occupation of World War II.
Your book club co-host,
Wendy
