Even a stopped clock marks the exact time twice a day, unless it is that of the cathedral of Savona which, despite the proclamations of Pope Francis, seems incapable of restoring dignity to this diocese and to the victims of its pedophile priests and the bishops who favored them.

Abuse survivors say statute of limitations keeps priests and the church from taking responsibility
As part of a three-month investigation into alleged priest abuse, the WCPO I-team reviewed dozens of lawsuits against the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, most of them dismissed because the statute of limitations had expired. That shielded the archdiocese against prosecutors and trial lawyers who’ve forced public disclosure and big cash settlements in other states.
“There is no question that Ohio is one of the worst states in the country at this point,” said Marci Hamilton, CEO of Child USA, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that has lobbied for statute of limitations reform in all 50 states. “It is falling farther and farther behind.”

The Legionaries of Christ confirmed that the six complaints of sexual abuse of minors filed against a priest of the congregation were true. They also recognize that despite the fact that the priest was denounced by a father for sexually abusing his son in 1969, he continued to go to schools and religious centers in Mexico City and Cancun, and served as a confessor in Salamanca (Spain).

The Third Wave: Justice for survivors of child sexual abuse within the Catholic Church in Latin America
CRIN, The Child Rights International Network based in London, has issued a Report on Child Sexual Abuse by Clergy in Latin America.
Survivors of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church predict Latin America will become the third region globally to witness mass revelations that expose systemic abuse and how the Church concealed it. Human rights groups say the global Church is still failing to respond to and make amends for its sexual abuse scandal, and survivors are increasingly placing the onus on national governments to respond, as they call for national inquiries and better
access to justice.
The report entitled, The Third Wave: Justice for survivors of child sexual abuse within the Catholic Church in Latin America, hopes to complement the efforts of survivors in Latin America in pursuing truth, accountability and redress. In covering all 18 Spanish-speaking countries in the region, as well as Brazil, it
summarises the regional scale of child sexual abuse and cover-ups by the Catholic Church in each country and how survivors and lawmakers have mobilised in response. The report is a useful resource for national organisations and lobbying groups in Latin America wishing to pursue advocacy on reforming national legislation and establishing public inquiries. The report also establishes the responsibility of national lawmakers to act in support of its citizens and, if need be, in defiance of the
