LONGEST RUNNING MAGIC TV SHOW
It holds the Guinness World Record for the longest continuously-running television magic series in the world.
Magicland was a weekly half-hour live-audience show aimed at children and aired at 10am on Sunday mornings.
Dick "Mr. Magic" Williams performed tricks and illusions, juggled clubs and scarves, and is remembered for his signature magician's finger exercises.
Guest stars on Magicland included Harry Blackstone Jr., Zaney Blaney, Ali Bongo, John Booth, John Calvert, Ricki Dunn, David Ginn, George Johnstone, Jay Marshall, Charlie Miller, Tom Ogden, and Mark Wilson.
During the 1950s. Dick Williams performed over 300 televised magic shows on station KGNC (now KAMR).
When he moved to WMC-TV as weatherman in 1966, Dick Williams was asked by management to host a children's program at that station.
Dick Williams expected the program to last perhaps a year.
Magicland ran for 23 years, recording 1200 episodes.
Dick Williams retired in 1989, and passed away at age 92 in 2020.
