SpaceChain has made a remarkable achievement in the space industry. The company successfully demonstrated a technical breakthrough that enables real-time cross-company collaboration under the Eureka Eurostars funding program.
The funding, awarded to SpaceChain and its consortium
partners Addvalue Innovation and Alba Orbital, was aimed at jointly developing a Decentralized Satellite Infrastructure (DSI) capable of powering payloads to enable direct tasking of a heterogeneous satellite constellation in real-time.
The collaboration between the three firms spanned more than two years and culminated in the successful demonstration of integrating distributed infrastructure with space and satellite systems, enabling users to order space services directly from Alba Orbital via the SpaceChain server and the Inter-Satellite Data Relay System (IDRS) deployed on a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite by Addvalue. Transactions are processed and conducted over
distributed networks which can be fully traceable by users.
Aimed to be the world’s first open satellite network infrastructure that is multi-vendor, multi-purpose, and networked to other spacecraft owned and operated by
multiple parties under various jurisdictions, the SpaceChain DSI is poised to provide compelling advantages and benefits to enterprises and users looking to harness space as a platform for business innovation.
