Summer Sailing

Maddie Shears (our podcast producer, on the left in the photo below) enjoyed an afternoon of sailing with improv friends on Lake Ontario last weekend. 

They set sail out of the Port Credit Yacht Club on a sailboat named Allegro in Mississauga (near Toronto) and enjoyed three hours on the water. Tim, the owner of the sailboat (on the right), is an improve performer with Maddie at Second City in Toronto. 

They've been doing improv together for 18 months now and absolutely love it! They completed levels 1-5 at Second City, earning their improv program certificate and then auditioned for The Conservatory, a 14-month program that focuses on writing sketch comedy (spoiler alert: they got in). 

If you aren't familiar with Second City, it's a popular institution in the world of improv and comedy with some noteworthy alumni including Tina Fey, John Candy (a Canadian), Dan Akroyd (another Canadian), Joan Rivers, and many others.
