Women in Private Equity: My interview with VERTU Capital Founder

In this week's episode of the Get Hired Up Podcast (#68), I had the great pleasure of interviewing the founder of the first woman-founded private equity fund in Canada, Lisa Melchior. We discussed various of topics including the following:

Lisa is the founder and Managing Partner of VERTU Capital, a Toronto-based technology private equity firm targeting high-potential Canadian technology businesses.

She has been a private equity investor for more than 25 years and has invested $1.5B in over 25 companies across North America and Europe, with a focus on enterprise software and software-enabled businesses. In March 2023, the Canadian Venture Capital Association honored Lisa with its Woman of Achievement Award in Private Equity.

Nova Scotia Business Owner Event ...

This week I (on the left) had the pleasure of attending an intimate CEO/Founder education luncheon at Old Ashburn Golf Club in Halifax (CANADA) with RBC Advisor, Jeanne Gillard. 

The panelists included an economist, a family office advisor, and an M&A expert. The discussions focused on current trends in the economy, interest rates, inflation, succession planning, and economic growth in the Atlantic Canadian Region. 

Here is Ruby-Muppet, our mischievous rescue from Turks & Caicos who's been with us for nearly 12 months. 

Beginning her life living under an abandoned boat, Ruby has adjusted to life in Canada just fine, enjoying weekends at the cottage and lots of fun adventures. 

Ruby loves long walks in the park, her canine-crush, Tucker, and relaxing on the sofa with her pack. .
