Ryan Smyth has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, where he has been actively involved in the successful completion of over 100 M&A transactions. Ryan holds a CPA, and a BBA from Simon Fraser University, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School General Management Program.

Another Caribbean Rescue ...

Meet Millie, the Caribbean potcake. 

For the second time in a year, our family has rescued a stray puppy from the Island of Grand Turks (Turks & Caicos). Discovered near the lighthouse on Grand Turks, this four-month-old puppy will make her way back to Halifax (CANADA) in a couple of weeks. 

The potcake is a mixed-breed dog type found on several Caribbean islands. Its name comes from a traditional local dish of seasoned rice and pigeon peas; overcooked rice that sticks to the bottom of the cooking pot is commonly mixed with other leftovers and fed to the dogs (Wikipedia). 

Millie is smaller than she appears in these photos, approximately 20 lbs. She will need to travel in the baggage compartment of the aircraft for more than 10 hours. 

Here is Millie enjoying an afternoon siesta. Millie will be thoroughly examined by the vet before she's permitted to travel. We are hopeful she passes the examination to qualify for the government papers required to enter into Canada.
