We recommend preparing your exit regardless of whether it is something you are actively seeking.
This is because in preparing for your exit, you are also preparing for your future at your current company and for any future companies you pursue.
As CEO, protecting your reputation upon your exit from your company, board, or philanthropic organization is your priority as you plan your departure. Your personal brand will follow you, and it is important your communications are carefully planned.
That is why we have built a Westgate CEO Exit Strategy Playbook for you.
The playbook includes a resignation letter, scripts for internal and external communications, as well as suggestions for succession planning for you to customize.
Best laid plans for your career sometimes don’t work. We recommend having a plan A, plan B, and plan C.

Maddison and I recently completed our quarterly business retreat and it always leaves us with fresh perspectives and intentional goals. Like many, we led our retreat in a virtual capacity. We hope soon, we can hold our retreats in different spaces and places. In fact, Maddison plans to move to Nova Scotia (eastern CANADA) for the summer.
She will enjoy her office next to me in Halifax! Here is Maddison in her home in the Beaches, Toronto and I at my corporate home office in the City of Halifax.
Do you find work retreats beneficial?
Have a great, safe, and healthy week ahead.
