The roadmap has been years in the making. My wonderful (late) business coach, Pat Schuler, would be so proud to see this roadmap published as we created the concept together back in 2017.
There are 9 parts to it:
How to find a C-level job that isn’t advertised: Some jobs are in the budget but are not advertised
- Some jobs don’t even exist until the right person appears
- Succession planning—an opportunity given or grabbed
- Some employment opportunities are created by private equity firms and venture capitalists
- Why relying on recruiters solely is like putting your eggs in one basket
- Stealth searches by recruiters
- Discover an invisible job that is perfect for you
- Rather than start over, why not redesign your existing job?
- You’re over-qualified
The roadmap includes case studies and insider secrets for navigating the global executive labor market.
Here is a preview of the foreword:
“With Maureen’s track record working with high-profile leaders, politicians, CEOs and entrepreneurs, you will unveil a clear path to your next career, establish your personal brand, identify your value proposition and land in an organization that matches your personal values.
Having a sense of purpose doing work you enjoy for an organization you respect and a board (or boss) you honor, is the ultimate recipe for personal fulfillment, achievement and success.”

In Halifax, Nova Scotia (EASTERN CANADA) we’re approximately a 2-hour flight east of Toronto and 2-hour flight northeast of New York City. Each morning I walk to Sullivan’s Pond in downtown Dartmouth (about a 60-minute round trip). A few days ago, I interrupted a pair of geese who were not happy with me as I zeroed in to take a photo. Merely
18 inches away from my camera, the (assumed) male goose attempted to chase me. Although I can walk for miles, I’m not a runner – however, I outran this guy!
