TYALGUM VILLAGE MARKETS
Sat 29 Feb, 9-3pm @ Celestial Dew guest-house gardens (next to Flutterbies cafe)
A unique country market brimming with handcrafted wares, local art & crafts, foods & preserves, in a delightful garden setting. We are fortunate to have a rich and talented community of artisans and makers in the Northern Rivers, and we look forward to promoting and celebrating local creative industries as our market grows and evolves. Tyalgum Village Market is held on the last Saturday of the month and is a Rain or Shine market.
CHINA MOZAIC TECHNIQUES WORKSHOP
Wed 4 March, 10-3pm @ Somewhere in the Sunshine
Come join us for a smashingly fun day learning china mosaic techniques. This workshop will be held in the garden at Somewhere in the Sunshine
in Flutterbies' Marketta Lane.
Clare Johnson, a highly talented painter and mosaic artist will be sharing her skills and ideas on mosaic crafting. Clare has offered to continue holding classes on the first Wednesday of each month.
Tools are provided, but there will be hand tile cutters available to buy (no doubt you'll catch the bug and need to keep going with your project at home). It is recommended to come along to a follow up workshop also for tuition in grouting and any finishing touches required.
Feel free to bring along any pieces of china etc to use in your project. Perhaps a favourite cup or plate which has sadly broken - so great to resurrect those broken treasures.
Cost - $80 for the day, including materials and use of tools.
Bookings are essential. Contact Emerald 0413 975 774. Find out more here
FLUTTERBUCKS PIZZA RAISES NEARLY $3K FOR LOCAL CHARITIES!
$1500 for Tyalgum Rural Fire Brigade & $1500 for Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers
Special thanks to The Heart Collectors, Phil & Tilley and Luke Bennett for performing
Last weekend's fundraiser was a smashing success, with $2880 raised towards supporting those who have done so much in fighting the recent fires.
With all the speculation concerning allocation of funds from larger charitable organisations .. we decided to go local!! PLUS we added another $120 to make it a neat $1500 to each organisation.
Thank you to everyone who made this gesture possible. The bands, the staff, the customers, so many people to thank.
Let’s do it again sometime. 🙏👼💕🌸🌍

SAVE MURWILLUMBAH HOSPITAL!
Lots of bad decisions being made about Murwillumbah hospital at present.
There's cutbacks to staff and a ridiculous rezoning of Murwillumbah as an urban centre. Both these decisions seriously undermine the services provided by our local hospital.
In response, there's a petition started by Janelle Saffin MP and there was a terrific speech in parliament by Justine Elliot MP.
Some people might suggest we stay out of politics - No way!
When it affects something as essential as our health we're going to speak up.
If you want to sign the petition you have to physically sign one (parliament requirements), look for one in the local Murwillumbah shops. In the meantime join the 'Save Murwillumbah Hospital' Facebook page to stay informed about what you can do.
POTHOLES – PLEASE REPORT ONLINE
Take care on the roads as the rain has caused potholes across the Tweed. We've got crews out making repairs and assessing damage.
Please report potholes online here >
