Dear ,
if you have been working with me long enough, you probably now understand that I am not a huge fan of ‘last-minute’ drills regarding any business task. And right now, we are in the middle of one of the most crucial business and individual tasks – to file a
2021 tax return.
The deadline to file is now only four weeks away. And as we near April 18th, the deadline, you need to look closer into your affairs and give an honest assessment.
- Are your tax documents ready?
- Have you paid all estimated taxes?
- Do you know when I should be ready to complete preparing your return (after getting all documents from you)?
If you do not have any answers to the above, you must re-look into your options. The first thing to do is to ensure that you pay all outstanding estimated tax payments. If you are not sure about this, talk to me now so we help you pay your tax due before the
April 18 deadline, depending on where you live.
Secondly, you need to start thinking of letting me file a request for an extension to file so we can get everything in order and now work with the extended October 17, 2022 deadline.
Please note: An extension to file is not an extension of payment. It’s an extension of time. So, you will need to send in a payment with your estimate in order
to avoid penalties. I will help you with this. Call my office at (202) 618-1297 to find out how I can help you not face IRS penalties.
