Hey
We just celebrated Labor Day, and when this happens each year, I am always reminded of how close we are to the end of the year!
Once the year-end kicks in, it’s all chaos as taxpayers rush to file taxes. And it will be worse for
people whose tax documents are everywhere, or nowhere to be found.
This is a concern, and the IRS knows it.
Recently, the IRS shared an article reminding taxpayers to make sure that documentation is kept in a safe place. They shared this while reminding taxpayers that September is the National
Preparedness Month.
Therefore, the IRS, just as I always say, is
urging taxpayers to secure documents electronically. This will help especially in the period we are getting into, where natural disasters are rampant.
The last thing you want is for natural disasters to destroy your documentation, making you lose tax refunds. Therefore, you need to do the following:
- Secure and duplicate essential tax and financial documents and store them online.
- Create lists of your properties.
- Know
where to find information once a disaster occurs.
Are you having trouble
securing any of your tax documents, or don’t understand what this is? Talk to me to become my tax client, I will help you with all this. Call my office now at (202)618-1297 to book an appointment.
