Hey
It’s been hectic days in Florida, and if your business is located there, or you are a Florida resident, we are remembering you in this difficult phase.
As tax practitioners, we are offering to assist you with tax matters, especially those arising from recent
changes announced by the IRS due to the recent damage caused by Hurricane Ian.
The
IRS announced that Hurricane Ian victims in Florida qualify for tax relief, and the following has been provisioned with immediate effect:
- Oct. 17 extension deadline, other dates extended to Feb. 15, 2023
- Quarterly estimated income tax payments due on January 17, 2023, are now due on Feb. 15, 2023
- The above also applies to quarterly payroll and excise tax returns normally due on October 31, 2022, and January 31,
2023.
Tax payments that were due
on April 8, 2022, have not been extended.
But the penalties on payroll and excise
tax deposits due on or after September 23, 2022, and before October 10, 2022, will be abated as long as the deposits are made by October 10, 2022.
