Hey ,
Did you know that you can save money on your taxes by making your home more energy efficient? The IRS offers tax credits for certain home improvements that reduce your energy consumption and lower
your utility bills.
If you made any eligible energy-efficient home improvements in
2022 or earlier, you may qualify for a credit of 10% of the cost, up to $500.
Eligible improvements include insulation, windows, doors, roofs, water heaters, and heating and cooling systems.
If you plan to make any eligible energy-efficient home improvements in 2023 or later, you may qualify for a higher credit of 30% of the cost, up to $1,200 per year.
Eligible improvements include the same as above, plus home energy audits. You can also get a higher credit of up to $2,000 per year for heat pump water heaters and heat pump space heaters.
These tax credits are especially beneficial for low-income households who want to save money and improve their comfort and health.
