Hey ,
Listen up! The IRS just dropped a major truth bomb about those "healthy living" expenses you might be tempted to claim on your FSA, HSA, etc.
Turns out, a lot of companies are trying to pull a fast one, saying stuff like your gym membership or fancy organic groceries can be covered as 'medical expenses'. Uh, newsflash: they can't. 👎
The IRS is saying, and I quote, "Personal expenses for general health and wellness are not considered medical expenses under the tax law." So, that means no write-offs, no reimbursements...nothing.
So, those sketchy companies claiming your doctor can magically write you a note to make it work? It's bogus! That won't fly with your plan.
Bottom line: Don't risk messing up your entire FSA or HSA for some scammy "healthy food" reimbursement that's too good to be true. You could end up owing taxes on all of it!
Stay sharp out there! Don't let those scammers get the best of you. 😉
