NATIONAL RAW FEEDING WEEK...
Tomorrow is the start of National Raw Feeding Week, a week I created to celebrate and educate about all things raw. Usually, I interview friends and experts, but this time around I want to do something different. In my goal to show people how easy raw feeding can be, I'm keeping things simple by sharing how I source ingredients, the ups and downs of raw feeding, alternatives to raw feeding, and I'll be hosting Live sessions using the Animal Diet Formulator software.
If you have a recipe that you'd like me to check out, keep reading for the criteria I need (and a sample recipe).
There are still foods that aren't available in the database, including Dr. Harvey's base mixes (bummer) or your customized mixes (supplements, vegetables). So, I'm requesting simple recipes for review similar to the following.
Turkey with Organs - 5 lbs
- 65% turkey necks (3.25 lbs)
- 10% liver (0.5 lbs)
- 17% heart (0.85 lbs)
- 10% gizzards (0.5 lbs)
You do not have to be exact; just send me an estimate. Keep reading to see the updated version of this recipe.
Scout is still doing well and is in remission. I'm continuing to update my initial blog post with his treatment, diet, supplements, and how he's responding.

Can Malipoos Eat a Raw Food Diet?
Does Raw Feeding Vary Based on Breed?
|
RESPONSE: I've never heard of a breed (or breed mix) of dogs that can't eat a raw food diet, however, I'm not an expert so I'm ready to learn. What I do know is that there are breeds that may need an adjusted diet due to genetics. For example, Dalmatians need a
diet low in purines and Huskies may need more zinc in their diet.

Whenever race hits the news, which seems to be weekly, I start getting emails from people who want to support me (and my blackness?) by adding me to a list. These are my thoughts.

I update the schedules when I add a new protein to my dogs' diet, which isn't that often, but it does happen.
