HOT SPOTS SUCK

I've only had a couple of experiences with hot spots. Sydney had one on her tail and it took forever for it to heal completely (it kept coming back). So when Rodrigo had the start of a hot stop (red skin, lots of licking), I was proactive and stopped it before it became a nasty problem.

And we're here again with Apollo and his hot stop is on his butt, right next to his rectum.

The first red flag was lots of licking. When I peaked back there, I saw that he has a bald spot so the licking had been going on longer and was more intense than I realized. I usually use the following to heal the spot:

But Apollo loves the coconut oil so he kept licking the area. So I switched to a CBD Dog Health's salve. I friend recommended that I look into this brand for Scout and...I'm beyond happy!!!

FATTY TUMOR IS SHRINKING!!!

Last night, I was doing my CBD oil routine with the dogs. Every dog gets a dose of CBD oil and I use the salves where needed - Apollo's butt and Scout's fatty tumor. #DevotedDogMom I've only applied it to Scout's tumor a few times over the past few weeks (I kept forgetting) and it is definitely smaller.

The directions say to apply the salve 3x daily, so I'm going to give this a go and see if we can get rid of that fatty spot by the end of the summer (if not sooner).
