We Survived!!!
Four days of 90+ degree weather was tough to deal with and I'm so glad that it's behind us. I never expected to look forward to 80 degree weather.
And now we're starting another challenging weekend because of the fireworks.
Someone recently posted on my page that people have a right to fireworks and instead of expecting people to change the way they celebrate the holiday, I should focus on training my dogs not to be afraid.
Interesting thought and not wrong; but I disagree.
I think it's perfectly acceptable to expect growth and change. That's life. If we didn't learn new things and evolve, we'd still be drawing on the walls of caves.
So, while some people will be spending their holiday lighting off fireworks, we'll be spending the weekend keeping our dogs happy and calm with CBD oil, yummy treats, lots of exercise, and loud movies.
If CBD Oil Doesn't Work
I stocked up on CBD Dog Health, which I give to Rodrigo and Scout 2-3x daily. For the weekend (starting today), I'll be giving the CBD oil to all of the dogs 2-3x daily. My goal is to keep the CBD active in their system. In the past, I only gave CBD oil when my dogs needed it and I was frustrated when it didn't work as well as what I expected.
The folks of CBD Dog Health suggested splitting a daily dose up during the day and it works great for my dogs.
I also have medication on hand for Rodrigo in case the CBD oil isn't enough.
