Happy Tuesday!
August is finally here and in a few weeks, the pet industry will be descending on Las Vegas, Nevada to attend SuperZoo and it'll be a blast. What's SuperZoo? SuperZoo is mainly an annual tradeshow where pet stores network with pet brands and figure out what products/food they'll have in their store. There are workshops, lots of opportunity to connect with likeminded people, and the lights of Las
Vegas!
I received permission from the Dr. Becker's Bites booth to host an event and several people in the fresh food community will be there for a meet and greet.
My goal with this event is to ask WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?
I know that a lot of people want to be advocates for fresh food by sharing their experience with their pets and I'd like to help if this is of interest to you. If you'll be in Las Vegas, please join us on Wednesday, August 1 from 1 pm to 3 pm PST.
Puppy Update
Apollo is a lot of work. My calves hurt from walking him twice daily. I'm exhausted. And he's adorable. We love him to bits.
Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to check out his antics.
What My Dogs are Eating
This week my dogs are eating pork, however, to balance out the diet, I'm adding several things:
- Pork cushion meat
- Pork uterus
- Pork brains
- Beef organ blend from GreenTripe.com
- Ground quail (for bone)
- Dr. Harvey's Paradigm (for fiber, nutrients, and antioxidants)
- Oysters (for zinc)
- Organic kelp (for iodine, which supports thyroid health)
Day 7 with a New Dog
Apollo has integrated into the family. Sydney (who is 9 years old) was playing with him the other day. What worked for us was to allow them to work it out without much interference from us. We'd step in when corrections were unnecessarily harsh, but that only happened a couple of times.
The dogs are starting to realize that Apollo is here to stay and we've found them sleeping together. And Apollo is learning boundaries. All in all, it's going really well.
Apollo is very vocal at meal time and he loves being next to us and up until today, he would follow us from room to room. He's starting to feel comfortable that we're not going to leave him. He's also starting to not hate his kennel, which he sometimes has to sit in to keep him out of trouble while I accomplish a task. He just lays there and chills.
