Happy Tuesday!!!
In 24 hours, I'll be on my way to Las Vegas with my best friend and business partner to attend Super Zoo. An annual trade show that in a building that is the size of fifty football fields. I'm both excited and nervous, but that's the way it is every year.
Why I'm Excited About Super Zoo
This is one of the few times of the year when I get to connect with some of my best friends face to face. Most of us just talk or text, but we're rarely hanging out together. Rodney owes me a double espresso. Billy and I have this running joke about feeding bread to dogs. And The Two Crazy Cat Ladies (Jae and Adrienne) and I are just silly when we get together.
Our group is huge and getting bigger every year as we connect with more and more advocates for fresh food. If you're going to Super Zoo, I hope you can join us at our "How Can We Help You?" event on Wednesday (tomorrow) 8/21 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Dr. Becker's Bites booth (#1271). I have a free gift for everyone who attends (while supplies last) and can't wait to connect with you.
Why I'm Nervous About Super Zoo
Super Zoo is an event with 99% of the pet brands we know about, both big and small, and it can be overwhelming. I'm an introvert and the thought of the crowds is pressing down on me right now.
There is a lot of competition in the pet blogging/influencer world and while most of it is healthy competition where we work together to grow, some is pretty nasty and reminds me of high school. I'm not looking forward to dealing with people glaring at me or doing the whispering/laughter move - yep, that actually happens. It's actually kind of funny when I think about it.
And, my finally whine about Super Zoo is when I hear people stating things that just aren't true. It's so hard to keep walking and not interrupt a conversation to correct people. I know influencers who have made this mistake in the past and the brand reported them for bullying and harassment. YES! You read that right. And the influencer was kicked out of the trade show.
So, are you an introvert? If so, how do you deal with crowds?
