Happy Tuesday!!!
I woke up this morning to realize that Christmas is NOT three weeks away. It's next week and I haven't done a lick of shopping. Thankfully, I only have about 10 presents to buy and I can get them all online or at Target. I just need to find time to shop.
Following friends on social media, I'm seeing all of the pretty Christmas trees and then I go home and we have the perfect spot for a tree, but my monsters (with love) can't be trusted around a Christmas tree.
Just thinking about the damage they'd do stresses me out and cracks me up. Rodrigo would mark it, Apollo and Scout would tear down the ornaments, Zoey would panic, and Sydney would grab her Fun Policewoman badge and try to maintain order.
So, with all that said - do you have a Christmas tree?

This week, the dogs are eating quail and I was a bit lazy with the recipe, so I'm going to share two ways that I feed quail - one is easy and the other has a few more ingredients.
RECIPE ONE...
- 24 lbs of ground quail from Columbia River
- 5 lbs of a DIY organ blend that includes heart and uterus, which are classified as meat by raw feeders
- 8 cans of boiled oysters; purchased at Walmart - my only source locally
- 12-15 raw sardines; sourced from OC Raw and chopped or ground
- 8 tbsp of ground kelp
- 1 cup of fermented seeds
- 8 cups of fermented vegetables
I divide all of the ingredients equally into four 8-quart stainless steel bowls and mix everything together. Once blended, I transfer to freezer safe containers. This will usually fill 4 large containers. Three go back into the freezer and one remains in the fridge.
RECIPE TWO...
- 24 lbs of ground quail from Columbia River
- 5 lbs of a DIY organ blend that includes heart and uterus, which are classified as meat by raw feeders
- 4 cups of Dr. Harvey's Paradigm or Raw Vibrance
I divide all of the ingredients equally into four 8-quart stainless steel bowls and mix everything together. Once blended, I transfer to freezer safe containers. This will usually fill 3-1/2 large containers. Three go back into the freezer and one remains in the fridge.
Note: The link to the spreadsheet expires January 31, 2020. My goal is to update the spreadsheet with more proteins and other ingredients. By placing an expiration date, I hope to prevent people gaining access to an outdated spreadsheet.
My new blog, Dog Mom Style, has been launched and I'd love for you to check it out.
Dog Mom Style is a lifestyle blog that will cover my interests outside of feeding my dogs while Keep the Tail Wagging will remain focused on raising dogs naturally.

4% of the pet lover population feed their dog or cat a raw food diet because it's species appropriate. In this book, I share my experience as a raw feeder, including how feeding a species appropriate diet to my dogs cured allergies, digestive issues, joint issues, chronic ear
infections, yeast infections, some behavior issues, and more.
