How often do you bathe your dogs?
The snow went away and now we have rain. Lots of rain. And it's warm. It's such a disappointment when the winter months are wet and warm because I worry about what summer is going to be like - tons of bugs, I imagine. There may not be a correlation, but it's always something I believed.
Another thing that's happening is shedding. Lots of shedding. We're sweeping the house daily now because the dogs are in the house all day when we're at work. And the mud and dirt being tracked in from play sessions, potty breaks, and long walks is grubbing up our floors.
And, finally, the doggy smell. Our dogs are getting baths this weekend. They haven't had one since the summer. Which made me wonder...
How often do you bathe your dogs?
We bathe our dogs every few months. They don't need it more often unless they roll in something nasty. I do all of the bathing and it's a chore. One dog at a time, trying to get them as dry as possible before they go tearing around the house (why do dogs do that?).
I use 4-Legger dog shampoo. I went through a period making my own and then someone freaked me out about getting the pH right and I switched to 4-Legger, which is all natural, certified organic (and real organic, not just for marketing), and they use Dr. Melissa Shelton's essential
oils. They have a lot of scents, but I like the unscented the best because Zoey is very sensitive to smells and this one doesn't bother her.
Isn't it funny how we start doing things to make our dogs happy and comfortable. I love it!
