Hi
January has been a crazy month and it's almost over! I have way too much on my plate, but I'm thankful for it all, because my dogs are healthy and happy and I know that's a blessing. And I'm happy to share a 50% off sale for nutrient testing for dogs!!!
Do you shop at Chewy.com?
I started a discussion on my Facebook personal profile asking about
Chewy.com and someone posted that they're not a fan because PetSmart owns the site now. I don't have any hate towards Petco, PetSmart, Chewy, Walmart, or Amazon. I'm focused on feeding my dogs a healthier diet and I shop where I can get what I need at an affordable price.
But that's just my opinion.
I get why people have have a negative opinion about these companies and while I do support independent pet stores (shout out to Julz Animal Houz!!!), there are some things that are easier and cheaper to get online. I was browsing Chewy.com and was pleased to see Mercola pet supplements, Dr. Harvey's, and Vital Essentials - and they're less expensive than Amazon (but no free 2-day shipping).
Anyway, I'm trying to decide if Chewy.com is worth the savings. So far, I've heard great things about the company and their customer service.
What are your thoughts? Do you shop at Chewy.com?
Save 50% on Nutrient Testing for Your Dog
I'll be writing a blog post and posting a video, but I wanted my subscribers to be the first to learn about the results. Before I go into details, I want to share that
ParsleyPet.com, the company I used to test my dogs, is having a BOGO sale. Use PARTY50 at check out to save 50% on tests. This deal is so good that I'm going to buy four
tests to use in October/November to retest my dogs. I plan to do this annually.
This sale is only through Thursday, January 31st.
Nutrient Testing Results
By feeding a raw food diet based on 80/10/10 with additional foods added to meet my dogs nutritional needs (based on NRC), my dogs are getting 99.9% of the required nutrients through a homemade diet. This is exciting to me because I only started paying attention to the nutrients in their diet last year and I'm thankful to a friend (shout out to Destiny White!!!) who helped me build
my spreadsheet where I track nutrients.
I use the spreadsheet to identify holes in my dogs' diet, not to formulate meals.
The holistic veterinarian who reviewed my dogs' tests,
Dr. Laurie Coger, recommended a
B-complex supplement. I ordered the product she recommended and a case of pork hearts because a friend, Ronny LeJeune of
Perfectly Rawsome, told me that they are the most nutritious and B vitamin strong. #CollaborationOverCompetition
I'm thinking of coming up with a new raw feeding model. I used to say that I fed FrankenBARF, but now I think I need a new name. What do you think?
You'll receive another email in two days. In the meantime, please check out my blog for recent posts: Keep the Tail Wagging
