Top 3 Shockers of 2021
2020 felt like it was 36 months long, while 2021 blew by in a flash. As I was thinking of what I wanted to write to you, I kept thinking of the many things that happened this year that blew me away in some fashion. Whether it's something that made me laugh, made me cry, or just shocked the hell out of me - let's talk about it.
1 - Another Cancer Diagnosis
When I started feeding raw, I thought my dogs would be cancer-proof. That belief was quickly squashed the more I learned about raw feeding and canine health. What blows me away about the pet industry is that we're more prepared to respond to a cancer diagnosis. There are a lot of resources, people freely sharing their knowledge and experience, and veterinarians are jumping on board the holistic/natural train.
And because of these changes, I had a blast chasing Scout around the house while we barked at each other. He's currently 10 months cancer-free.
2 - The End of an Era
When Billy Hoekman announced his resignation, I was stunned. And I couldn't have predicted what would follow. I've been following from the sidelines and despite reading court documents and speaking with several people involved, I still don't know the full story. So, I decided to stop reporting on it and, instead, I filled my freezers with my favorite products so that my dogs don't miss out.
3 - The Forever Dog Book is #1
I was so happy for Rodney when he and Dr. Becker released the first book they co-authored. It's an amazing achievement. The Forever Dog, along with Feeding Dogs by Dr. Conor Brady, made 2021 the year of Raising Dogs
Naturally. To see The Forever Dog hit #1 on the best seller list was astounding and goes to show that there is a shift happening in our community and I'm excited to see the impact on the veterinarian community and pet industry.
I'm excited to see where we go in 2022.
Special Discount Codes
Christmas Discounts
Real Dog Box is bringing back their BOGO deal. When a NEW subscriber signs up for a Treat & Chew box, they get a $34 credit to cover their next box!
King Kanine is offering 30% off CBD oil (Code: XMAS30). I've had great success with this product. I like that it doesn't have a strong flavor, it comes with an oral syringe to make dosing easier, and it's effective (with my dogs).
4-Legger is offering TWO free sample packs (4 oz.) of their original four shampoos for purchase of $25. 4-Legger is an amazing brand and I love their grooming products. The owners are passionate about providing high quality, organic, toxic free products that are safe to use on our pets.
Kin+Kind has marked down several of their products for dogs and cats. I'm a fan of their flea & tick products. And I've heard great things about their
supplements.
Ongoing Discounts
Darwin's Natural Pet Products (raw dog food): when you use code KTTW, you'll receive 10 lbs of food for $14.95 (your trial order) along with a free heavy-duty Darwin's insulated cooler bag, and they'll make a donation to the local rescue Save-A-Mutt that does so
many amazing things for dogs and cats (plus I sit on the board).
