When Veterinarians
Disagree
I wrapped up part two of Dr. Em's video reviewing Dr. Becker. It's more of the same. It's clear that she doesn't like
Dr. Becker and as I was watching the video, I felt sad.
It must be hard to devote your career (and life) to the care and welfare of animals only to
have colleagues make hit pieces to cut you down. Dr. Em's videos didn't contain any recommendations for pet parents beyond "don't follow Dr. Becker." No one will walk away from her video with a better understanding of dog health and nutrition.
Most of the information she shared could be debunked with a quick Google search. This was not an unbiased review; it was a hit piece.
Although my recent experience with Dr. Becker wasn't pleasant, it doesn't erase my immense respect for what she has accomplished over the years and how many pets, including my own, she has helped by sharing her knowledge freely.
There are people in the raw feeding community who don't like me. But their dislike doesn't extend beyond snide and passive aggressive comments that I mainly ignore. It all blows over within a day or two.
What's ironic, is the comment that Dr. Becker left on my page gave me a sense of what this might feel like for her and I'm impressed that she has risen above these critics and kept her focus on helping pets.
